23:41pm - Figured out a way to put a Tumblr blog in an iframe on this site, which seems like a decent compromise!
So updates here in this format will have to be more intentional from now on.

03:43am - It's weird because a blog should include links to stuff. Lots of links. Hypertext. This is one of the original things the internet was SO good at, before it got perverted by Ranking Algorithms and SEO and whatever.
When I FIRST got on the internet one of my first friends was Wogman. He felt like a real friend.
Wogman told me about Halycon and his blog Prehensile Tales. That blog was full of links and it seemed so cool, novel, and involved.
Since then, of course I take the easy way out and eschew linking. But also, of course I take it to the extreme. No @'s, no #hashtags, no mentions, no connection at all.
Is it for safety? Privacy?
...Freedom?

Hello again :)
Starting this post at 23:41PM.
I have a conundrum and this blog is apparently where I'm going to try to figure it out!
The conundrum is that I want to blog freely. A place to just jot down thoughts or write out feelings or post things whenever, without judgement.
That place used to be Twitter (@veryagile) for me. I had that account since 2013, and it was my second account! The first account was from like 2007-2013, and unfortunately all those posts are lost to time... Twitter was the place where I could yell into the void or just jot things down without thinking about it. Or just post some quote or random phrase or anything. It was an outlet.
So anyways, I need a new outlet and am trying to figure out where or what it should be!
Here are some of the candidates / things I've tried already:
Tumblr - best for microblogging. top candidate in my mind, but i did make a blog and didn't keep it so hmm
Neocities - the other top candidate, of course it's this site! :D lots of pros including coding, more "static" and less "algorithmy", it's hands-on, creative, and lots more! But i do go through months of not updating here too..
Discord - made a new Discord server but it isn't quite the same. it's good for what it is, but I feel weird blogging there?
irl journaling - I do have an irl journal that I hand write in every day, but again it's not quite the same. Maybe I could learn to use my irl journal for my outlet needs?
And here are some thoughts/ideas for other sites:
LiveJournal - A good 800 posts of mine are on LJ. How do I consolidate those? There is a tool to Export the posts to WordPress, but that did NOT work when I tried. Speaking of...
WordPress - Never had a personal blog-type WordPress blog. Considered journaling here too BUT, it's just so hard to start doing something completely new out of nowhere. IF the LJ Export/Import thing worked it would have swayed my opinon a LOT. The pluses to WP are that it integrates with a LOT of other apps, so it would be fun to work with
LinkTree - Should I just gather up ALL my sites, add it to Linktree, and be done with it? Seems WAY easier than any sort of Import/Export, takes almost no work to translate the data to different platforms. That may be a different question...
And yes there is the question of "why do I want to blog so much" or what the underlying goal is here. Good question!
The goal is basically: to utilize technology to its fullest extent, and use it to be as transparent as possible.
It's interesting because I've been blogging by hand-writing entries into HTML code since I was like 15 years old. In some ways, it seems so natural to express my true self in this way, digitally, yet hand-written (including the html).
And yes, maybe it's some combination of a few of these things. The original reason for me to create this Neocities site was to aggregate ALL of my old content and posts in one place. So maybe I should focus on that and everything will work itself out :)
