Made a new Twitter handle, which I used until Elon went crazy in 2023 or so! 10 years exactly!
2011 - Tumblr sideblog
When I started transitioning, I also started a "girl blog" side blog on tumblr. My "main" is so highly curated and specific, and I had a ton of posts that I wanted to post, but that didn't fit the vibe or aesthetics of my main blog.
Enter sideblog! It's again a perfect expression of myself, and also therapeutic and an interesting timeline of my transition!
2010 - Tumblr
It took me a year or so, but once I *got it*, it was revelatory. Tumblr is capable of expressing things no other platform can, and my Tumblr blog is the truest and most accurate expression of myself that I have ever made online.
2007 - Twitter
Started my first Twitter account, @mil_
It went until 2013 or so! Then I went crazy and deleted it ^^;
2005 - Facebook
After I got back from study abroad, my friend Derek basically forced me to get a theFacebook account. This was back when you could only register with a .edu email!
2004 - Mixi
This is a Japanese social media site!
2001 - LiveJournal
Went to college and decided to sell out (after doing my own blog for so long) get a LJ?
This LJ is still active and it's really interesting to have posts from 2001 - 2023 on one blog!
1999 - betaminus.org
With a bit of disposable income, I got my first domain and web hosting.
It's basically just an iteration of my webpage and blog.
1998-99? - MySpace, xanga, AsianAvenue
Had these in High School
1998 - Tripod, Angelfire, XOOM
Basically all the free web hosting sites. All that they asked in return was to put a banner that linked back to their page. The early web was a different time!
I kept my "main" webpage on XOOM, Tripod was for Anime, the Drinking Game!, and Angelfire I didn't use as much!
1997-1998 - Geocities
Got a Geocities page in /Tokyo/XXXX but I can't for the life of me remember the numbers!! It's one of my goals to find out and remember the number. Unfortunately, it's only an "UNDER CONSTRUCTION" page. I would do almost anything to get the original versions of the page back!
