White - My First Smartphone!
Amazing phone, super cute and compact form factor.
Has an LED mouseball controller!!
Modern Era Phones
2011 - Samsung Galaxy S
Sprint 4G - with slide out physical keyboard. Got this right after moving back from Japan on a two year Sprint contract.
Unlocked the bootloader and installed custom ROMs on this phone. Hacking this phone taught me how to hack Android.
Currently powers on but freezes on boot.
2013ish - Blackberry Curve
First and only Blackberry, I actually liked it a lot.
Was still kinda unwilling to give up a physical keyboard 😅 Didn't hack this phone
2014 - Motorola Moto X
Wood panel back - Verizon locked - Got this phone new with a 2 year Verizon contract. Really nice phone.
Used it for about a year before dropping it in a parking lot and the screen spidered.
Currently powers on but bootloops
2015ish - Samsung Galaxy S5
Verizon 4G - refurbished off ebay, this phone failed fast probably a month or so
2016 - LG Nexus 5X
Ice - Unlocked - THIS WAS A PERFECT PHONE. Perfect size and specs, Perfect color, Perfect build, ahead of it's time!
Definitely had fun with nightly ROMs on this phone!!
It died to the bootloop. It still powers on and bootloops.
This is my favorite phone ever!
late 2017 - Motorola Moto X 2nd gen
White - used off eBay. Failed, just completely shut off 1-2 months after purchasing, right at the beginning of a trip to Japan.
early 2018 - Alcatel Pixi
Purchased used in Akihabara after the Moto X broke at the beginning of my Japan trip
mid 2018 - Google Pixel 2
Black - AMAZING PHONE, Perfect size, still runs to this day and is solid af!!
July 2020-Dec 2021 - Google Pixel 4a
Black - Screen died but still powers on and works.
This phone broke when I dropped it at the airport right at the beginning of a trip.
Dec 2021-May 2022 - Google Pixel 4a
Barely Blue - Unlocked - LOVE the orange power button with the light blue color!!
Got this phone used from Best Buy in West Des Moines, IA to replace my broken black Pixel 4a.
This phone died in Vegas during EDC. RIP❤️
June 2022 - Motorola moto g power (2021)
Glowing Blue - Purchased used from Best Buy
This phone is my current backup phone! The cpu is a little slow but it works in every other way. The battery life blows my mind.
