about... well, somethin' or the other

"And that," put in the Director sententiously, "that is the secret of happiness and virtue–liking what you've got to do. All conditioning aims at that: making people like their unescapable social destiny." -- A Brave New World

So, I guess you are proably thinking "this page is pretty boring" right? Well, it's supposed to be. I don't like all those fancy graphics and slow page load times, so I'd rather have an old-skool page with lots of fun stuff to do, and not just look at.

This page is part of my homepage project... or somethin' like that. Actually, it's just the next incarnation of my thoughts and journal. I have had it for a few years. You can read the former two versions in the archives section over there, if you want. It's pretty interesting, if I do say so myself.

If you want to know how I made this or whatever, I did all the HTML in Notepad. That's right, all by hand. It may be messy and not tight and concise, but it's still all mine. I like doing this, creating, rather than having a program create for me.

The text on the main page is smaller than on all of the other pages. Did you notice? It's because I figure I'll be writing more there, so I can fit more stuff in the thing! Get it?

Oh yeah, about the domain name... it's from the book A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. It's a book about an anti-utopian society, where people are engineered and bred, instead of born. After being bred, they are graded on a scale of Alpha-Plus, Alpha, Alpha-Minus, Beta-Plus, Beta, Beta-Minus, etc. I may be wrong, because I haven't read the book for a few years. Anyways, Nick C. wanted to start a band with me called The Beta Minuses. It would have been cool, but never got off the ground. I don't know why he chose that particular one, but it sounds cool. It has a nice ring to it. Plus, I think I am a Beta-Minus, so there you have it- betaminus.org. There's not much more than that, but go to www.huxley.net for some good reading, there are essays and even the whole book online to read.

There is little java on this page. The only thing right now is the random picture thing. Wait around for 222 seconds and the head thing there will refresh, and (hopefully) a new picture of me will come up.

I don't use php or mySql or anything like that. Why? Too lazy to learn them. Anyways, I'm still kickin' it oldskool with good old HTML. Just recently I figured out CSS, so that's what makes my page look so pretty.

That's about it for now.
